
OGDEN, Utah - After scoring a career-high 32 points and leading the Hornets to an NCAA record 25 made 3-pointers at Portland State junior guard Brianna Burgos has been named Big Sky Player of the Week. She shares the weekly honor with Eastern Washington senior guard Hayley Hodgins.
In the 126-78 win over Portland State Burgos equaled her career high with six made threes to lead the Hornets to a new NCAA Div. I single game record, three more made 3-pointers than the previous national record.
She scored 25 points just in the first half, shooting 5-of-10 from 3-point range in the half. Burgos finished 12-of-23 (52.2%) from the field and her 32 points were the most any Hornet has scored in a game since 2012. She also had a game-high and career-high five steals with five assists, three rebounds, and just one turnover in 27 minutes.
For the season Burgos ranks third in the Big Sky making 2.8 3-pointers per game and leads the league shooting 89.7% from the free throw line, including a perfect 18-of-18 from the line in Big Sky play.
