JBS Families,

I received this wonderful email from Kathy De Lapp and I asked her, if I could share it with our JBS families.

"Such a lengthy and impressive list of kids coming out of the JBS club.  I know that Kassidy would not be where she is today without the amazing coaching staff and our fearless leader Sean Chambers.  Loyal JBS Alum’s at the De Lapp house.  So grateful for the opportunities afforded Kassidy under the direction of Sean, his love and care for all our kids is humbling and the success speaks for itself when you read the list of schools these kids are playing for".

Sean,

We want to acknowledge what a great experience Devyn had this past summer playing for you and JBS.  We’re sure you’ve been told this a thousand times, but you truly have a special gift! Your ability to take a bunch of talented young ladies, mesh them together into a very competitive team, take them all over the country, and still make the whole experience positive and fun is outstanding.  Devyn has been playing basketball at a high level for many years.  With success came a lot of expectations, pressure, and at times, self doubt.  Before this summer of playing with JBS, she was seriously thinking of walking away from basketball.  However, once she started playing for you Sean, her whole outlook changed.  For the first time in a long time, she looked forward to practice.  Because you make basketball fun, her passion for the game and her self confidence returned.  As Devyn’s parents, not only was it extremely important for us that basketball was fun again for her, but to have her surrounded by really good kids.  The positive environment you and your program foster bring great kids together! We are very proud of Devyn.  She’s heading off this fall to Houston Baptist University on a full ride scholarship.  We want you to know that it might not have been possible without you.  Our prayers go out to you and your family.  Much success for you and the JBS family in the future.

Sean,

Sheri and I would like to thank you making Mikayla's JBS experience both fun and memorable.  From day one, the JBS staff, players, and families were incredibly welcoming and warm toward our entire family.  We believe the friendships Mikayla has made are genuinely special and will last well beyond basketball.

I would like to recognize you for creating an environment and program that attracts not only talented athletes but even more importantly talented and capable young women with bright futures.  It is said that "success breeds success" as such I believe that you along with the players have created a foundation and formula for future players to achieve excellence on and off the court.

Most if not all of the players from the JBS Purple team have been blessed and received college scholarship offers including Mikayla who has decided to attend UC  Berkeley in the fall.  That said, I believe your business acumen and understanding of the "business of basketball" has facilitated these scholarships - so thank you again for all that you did toward helping our daughter with exposure and allowing her to achieve her dream of playing college basketball.

On a personal level, I would like to say that you are one heck of a coach as you had a team full of D1 players yet you managed to ensure that each one of them contributed and showcased their respective talents.  Additionally, the basketball system that was created by you and your staff was evident when the players stepped onto the court as they played with purpose which ultimately lead them to a top 10 ranking in the country.

Lastly, I believe pride is a very powerful emotion which can lead to great accomplishments when nurtured by a leader who genuinely cares and a believes in his team.  Therefore, I can confidently say that each one of the players from the summer of 2009 JBS Purple team played with pride for their coach Sean Chambers and JBS.

Regards,

Manuel and Sheri Roman (Mikayla Lyles parents)

Dear Sean,

Wow, what can we say!  Life is full of choices some good, some not so good.  Our decision to have Sara play with JBS was pivitol.

As an 9th grader she was in awe of the other players and happy to be included.  What a great way to ease her into the incredibly stressful world of recruiting.  And what great role models in Brittany, Maddie, Amanda, Nicole, Sam etc.

Sara and Brittany Shine have formed a friendship that will be forever-they had to stick together-the only freshman.

The next two summers-Wow-so much fun-and the girls did so well.  B, AT, Kyra, Diana, Mikayla, Cait, Jamie, Ally, and Katie all such great girls and really formed friendships for life. Your coaching made the difference.  Your plays really showcase each girls talents so well. And they had a blast!!!

Stanford!!!!!!!!  Can you believe it.  We are thrilled and it's Sara's dream...come true!

The JBS experience was phenomenal.  Sara learned so much about basketball and playing competitively.  It was always so positive and fun.

Thank you Sean for all your hard work and support.

You were instrumental in Sara getting a full ride scholarship to the #2 ranked women's basketball program in the nation.  Oh my!!!!  It's still amazing.

Your connections, tournament selection and feedback made all the difference.

But most important to Mike and I as Sara's parents were the life lessons you taught our daughter over the past 3 years.  "Basketball is supposed to be fun!" "Really know your teammates" "Make the effort" "BELIEVE" in yourself, your teammates, your coach and always remember what is truly important in life"  "Life is hard, why not have fun along the way." "Now just go play basketball" CLAP CLAP

We will sincerely miss being a part of the JBS family.  We feel lucky to have been given the opportunity.  Good luck to all the players and families to come.

Much love, The James Family   Sara, Kelly, Mike, Kevin and Ryan

The Meade Family:

I guess the one word quote from Renee and myself would be "AWESOME"

Madison has been playing AAU basketball for 10 years and by far this was the best experience of all those past years. With great success as the JBS team had last year behind it stands a great bunch of parents. The coaching wasn't bad either. (Too bad Sean I will say something about you because it is important to let future players and parents of JBS to know that you are the best coach I've ever been associated with.)

Madison said all year long " I bet we could beat a lot of college teams"

The JBS Family truly cares about each player and getting the most out of each player in a team concept. That is huge.

Good luck to all the future JBS players and parents. Our only regret is that it is over for us. We will miss the traveling/great parents and of course Sean.

Sincerely

Steve and Renee Meade

The Messersmiths:

' The opportunity I had of playing basketball with the 2007 JBS team was one of the most
memorable summers of my life.  Coach Sean and the team not only helped me to reach my
basketball goals but the freindships I made are irreplaceable.  We could not have asked
for a better group of girls and families to  spend our summer with.'

thanks...... Karol, Todd and SAMMMMMMMMM

Johnsons Family:

It's hard to put into words everything that Amanda got out of playing for JBS.  The most important thing we think is to "Just Believe".  Before playing with JBS Amanda was so unsure of herself and her future.  Playing for JBS was the most important decision she could have made.  The commuting was well worth the time.

The summer of 2007 will be a time that she will never forget.  The players and their families are all just awesome people, but the most important Sean is you are a one of a kind coach.  You always knew what to do to keep the girls motivated, whether they were having a good game or a bad game you got them through it.  Thanks so much for helping A.J get to the next level...

Kim & Brittany:

There are not enough words to express the positive experience Brittany and I have had being part of the JBS program!  Brittany has gained athletic experience as well as confidence playing for JBS.  Being part of the JBS program and family has brought structure, wisdom and security into her life.  I can honestly say that I see the change in Brittany and a big part of all her accomplishments her senior year is because of the JBS program.  Both Brittany and I have made life long friendships and have many extended families today.  Thank you Coach Sean and all the JBS families for making it all possible for us!  JUST BELIEVE – Brittany and I will always live by those two words!!

Peace & Love....Kim & B. Woodard

The Kittle(s) Family:

We have not had a chance to thank you for all your time you put with the team.  We keep thinking about what you said when some of the girls played at USF.  She is gonna get a full ride, she is gonna get a full ride.  You were right and had more faith then we did.  We can not thank you enough.  Everyone around here says we were crazy for not taking the USF offer.  But we feel it is the right thing committing to Westmont.  We can't wait till next year to see how all the 2008 JBS girls do in college.  Thanks again Sean for all your encouragement that you gave Kittles.  Your coaching style and the whole JBS experience is the reason why Kittles has improved.

Being a part of the JBS team and competing in tournaments is the best way for your child to be noticed by college scouts.  College coaches have come to expect when a JBS team is on the court they will see a fast paced and well disiplined team.  JBS is becoming know as one of the top contenders in AAU Club basketball.

Sean has a unique coaching ability that puts the player in a position where they can build confidence and excell.  JBS conditions and prepares the player for college level ball.  The 2007 JBS experience was a blast, for the parents too!

Thank you JBS,

The Kittles
